Personal Experience
Ms. Thespina Fegaras joined Akbari Law as an associate attorney in the fall of 2025. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Maryland. Thespina received her undergraduate degree from Valparaiso University in 2020 after studying political science and criminology. She received her Juris Doctor degree in 2024 from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. During law school, Thespina externed at the Coalition for Juvenile Justice and the Tahirih Justice Center, working with youth and parents experiencing familial separation and gender-based violence. She also served as an Executive Editor of the Maryland Law Review, Vice President of Baltimore Outreach for Student Success, and President of her law school’s chapter of the National Lawyers Guild. At law school graduation, Thespina received the Public Service Award for her hands-on work with various communities during law school.
After law school, Thespina clerked for the Honorable Hope Tipton in Baltimore, Maryland, gaining behind-the-bench experience in matters regarding family and criminal law. Thespina has valuable court experience in handling domestic violence and complex custody issues as well as guardianship and estate matters.
Thespina seeks to find clarity for her clients in their times of crisis. Her multi-disciplined background and client-centered approach enables her to zealously advocate for her clients whether it be custody negotiations or domestic violence hearings.
Outside of the office, Thespina enjoys exploring new restaurants and traveling with her
family.
